Coté, black pottery, silk thread on banana paper.

This drawing is part of a series made in collaboration with Cristina Huarte for her Aleteo Negro multimedia project. Cristina draws inspiration from the Legend of Itzapapalotl, an ancient goddess of the Nahua Mythology known as obsidian butterfly; this goddess represents the transformation that comes with darkness and night, she is often represented with a striking skeletal figure, bat, eagle and moth wings (Rothschildia orizaba).
