Materials ans methods: criollo sheep wool hand dyed with colorfast aniline dyes using an exhaustive method. Handwoven on a Zapotec style loom of the 16th century adapted from European styles. Woven using a 7 threads per inch reed. 

Design patterns and symbols. 

Patterns and symbols: The eight pointed star represents Venus. The fifth pointed cross represents the axis mundi and the apparent journey of the sun above the sky and to the underworld. The curling coming out of the diagonal star represents Scorpio. Venus and Spio align at sunrise every eight years to mark ceremonies of the new fire.
