The rug is inspired in the sky of Lua'a (Oaxaca), the land of guajes, an incredible acacia tree that grows around around here, it provided us with beans that are pungent like wasabi and nutricious. The tree is so well adapted it can take over abandoned plots of land and hills like the one on the outskirts of Oaxaca city, know as Cerro del Fortín in Spanish.
Mario is a master weaver and has a great eye for blening colors, from his front yard he overlooks the corn fields and has a wide view of the landscape that inspires him during his weaving. This rug is the perfect blend of blue skies and the blue tinted mountains that surrounds our ancestral lands, the place where the sky kisses the earth.
