Materials and methods: Jute yarns hand dyed with natural dyes such as cochineal, indigo, marigold, black zapote and pomegranate skins. Handwoven on a Zapotec style loom of the 16th century adapted from European styles. Woven using a 7 threads per inch reed and wool rayon blend for warp.

This rugh depicts the nine sister seeds given to us by the ladies of the market that inhabit the constellation of the Pleaids; corn, beans, squash, amaranth, chia, chillies, marigolds, cacti and avocado. These plants became the plantcestors that gave birth to our civilization.
