The other side: basieki

Size: 80x150cm; 2.6x5ft 
Materials and methods: criollo sheep wool hand dyed with colorfast aniline dyes using an exhaustive method. Handwoven on a Zapotec style loom of the 16th century adapted from European styles. Woven using a 7 threads per inch reed. 
Weaver: Maximo Vicente. Pictured Adrian holding his father's rug that he designed. 
Design: Adrian experiments with minimalist shapes and soft tones to move his family's rugs into a new direction based on the ancient principle of the Toltecayotl which reflects the balance of complementary opposites.
