This rug represents the people whose spirits have blossomed, we call them Beni Guie'æ, the flowered people; they were often great teachers, artists and healers. The spirits of the flowered people can still be seen moving along rivers throughout the Sacred Valleys of Oaxaca bringing thier knowledge and teachings to those who can see them. Our acestors teach that just like the wild floweres of the countryside, we are born into this world to grow up and blossom in a rather short existence, to live our life expecience only to die and go back to the underworld of Liuú Ba'á (Mictlan).
