Materials and methods: Xiuhquilitl (indigofera suffroticosa) for the blue rug and beé (Dactylopius coccus costa, cochineal) for the red rug. Handwoven on a Zapotec style loom of the 16th century adapted from European styles. Woven using a 7 threads per inch reed and wool rayon blend for warp.

Design, patterns and symbols. This design is has a little tweak in the eye of the traditional feather snake symbol designed by Samuel Bautista Lazo to convey the idea of the crown of braids worn Biniit shnuaash (womxn); this crown represents the snake that its itws own tale, an analogy of the universe that creates itself to know itself. As the life givers womxn understand that and can easily connect to the source of wisdom, medicine and power.
